IX. Participant Registration Rules
(I) Age Requirement for Participants
Participants must be at least 20 years of age in the year of the event (born on or before December 31, 2006).
(II) Requirements for Older Participants
Participants who are 70 years of age or older in the year of the event (born on or before December 31, 1956) must also meet the following requirements when registering for the marathon:
1. An informed consent form for older participants must be signed online by a direct family member, acknowledging awareness of the risks and consenting to participation.
2. To ensure the safety of older participants, a companion must accompany them for the entire race. Older participants must submit the relevant information of a companion who has already successfully pre-registered during the pre-registration stage.
(III) Physical Condition Requirements for Participants
A marathon is a high-load, high-intensity, long-distance competitive sport with certain risks. Improper participation may cause varying degrees of physical injury or even be life-threatening. Therefore, participants should be in good health and have a regular foundation of running exercise or training.
Those with the following diseases or conditions are not suitable for participation:
1. Patients with congenital heart disease, rheumatic heart disease, myocarditis, and other heart diseases.
2. Patients with hypertension and cerebrovascular diseases.
3. Patients with coronary artery disease and severe arrhythmia.
4. Those experiencing moderate chest pain or angina during light physical activity.
5. Diabetics with excessively high or low blood sugar.
6. Those who had a cold or abnormal body temperature within two weeks before the event day.
7. Those who consumed excessive alcohol or had insufficient sleep the night before the event.
8. Pregnant women.
9. Patients with other diseases unsuitable for physical activity.
Participants should undergo a physical examination at a regular medical institution within 12 months before the event. The pre-race physical examination must include blood pressure and a routine electrocardiogram (ECG), or a 24-hour Holter monitor, or an exercise stress test (one of the three is sufficient). If blood pressure is too high or the ECG is significantly abnormal (e.g., marked bradycardia), a cardiac color ultrasound is additionally required. ECG and cardiac ultrasound results are not interchangeable. Participants should assess their physical condition in conjunction with the examination report to confirm their ability to participate in the marathon. The participant themselves assumes responsibility for any personal injury or property loss caused by personal physical conditions or other personal reasons.
(IV) Performance Requirements for Participants
Participants must have a record of completing one full marathon or two half marathons within the 24 months prior to the registration deadline. The finish certificate must at least include the event date, real name, distance (or event name indicating distance), and finishing time.
(V) Registration Method for Elite Athletes
Elite athletes are categorized into international elite athletes and domestic elite athletes. International elite athletes are foreign nationals meeting the event’s tier standards and eligibility criteria. Domestic elite athletes are athletes currently listed in the registered testing pool and examination pool of the Anti-Doping Center of the General Administration of Sport of China.
Elite athletes are invited by the Organizing Committee and may not register as mass participants. If elite athletes wish to register
